A whistle-stop tour of wonders

Supported By: G Adventures

G Adventures has created a sustainable five-day Grecian adventure travelling from Corfu to Athens in a small group of up to 24 travellers, taking in amazing mainland haunts in a short space of time. True to the company’s “Roamies” ethos, nights are spent at fun, sociable hostels to connect with fellow globetrotters and let the good times roll.

The trip kicks off on the stunning island of Corfu with time to chill in the hostel and meet fellow travellers, before heading to magical Meteora on the mainland to explore the spectacular “hanging” monasteries, perched high on their natural rocky pillars. A World Heritage site, six of the magnificent Byzantine buildings can be explored, all the while taking in views of the wonderfully, strange surroundings.

The next day the historical wonder A-list continues with a visit to Delphi, home to a plethora of awesome archaeological sites and the Temple of Apollo. While away a day wandering around the UNESCO World Heritage Site, imagining the ancient Greece of days gone by. The next stop is Athens for visits to the big hitters – The Parthenon, the Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus. Enroute travellers will stop off at Shedia Home, a G-Adventures supported non-profit café providing purpose and employment to over 150 people experiencing homelessness in Athens. Top off the trip with a night out in Athens before heading home or continuing an adventure around Greece with a bunch of new buddies.
