Kos: Greece’s bicycle island

Supported By: Kos

Aptly nicknamed the ‘cycling island’, Kos is the place to explore on two wheels. With lovely flat terrain, a web of trails for all abilities, stunning scenery and rental bikes coming out its ears (6,500 to be specific), the island is the hottest place to jump on the saddle right now.

A no-emissions way to travel, Koans are keeping island pollution down by travelling around by bike and visitors are now following in their tracks, minimising their footprint on the island whilst at the same time keeping active (extra Saganaki anyone?)

Bicycling is one of the fastest growing types of outdoor recreation and Kos is only the beginning; the government aims to establish a National EuroVelo Coordination Centre to promote cycling tourism throughout Greece.
